Vancouver Singer/Songwriter Geoff Gibbons got his first tastes of performing, touring, and recording music at the age of 11, as a member and soloist with the BC Boys Choir.
Wishing to follow different musical pursuits as a teenager, Geoff discovered the acoustic guitar and the songs of Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, and The Eagles. He then formed his first rock band Cove Company with three high school chums...Many musical projects and countless stages have followed through the arc of Geoff’s musical career.
Geoff's first recording group, Silverlode released two albums that garnered national airplay in Canada. The group appeared on many concert stages, and local and national television shows.
On his own, Geoff has recorded five critically received albums with songs on radio, as well as heavy rotation of five videos on national video channels Much More Music and CMT.
As a songwriter and producer, Geoff has collaborated with many artists, and has penned songs for Television shows such as (Higher Ground, Just Cause, Robson Arms) as well as songs for the award winning animation The Mr. Dink Show - winner of the jury prize for best animation at the New York International Film Festival).
In film Geoff composed the score and the songs for Lions Gate Film's Wolf Moon aka Dark Moon Rising, Working with producer/engineer Dave Ogilvie (Marilyn Manson , David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails) and collaborating with a number of artists for the project. Geoff's songs are also being featured in the upcoming films Lido and The Hunchback.
In 2017-18 Geoff released his widely acclaimed Roots/Americana/Folk Rock project Buffalo Hotel. Co-produced with esteemed producer John Ellis, the album was widely hailed by critics from Huffington Post to No Depression Magazine as
a new classic Roots album.
For Remembrance Day this past year Geoff released a four song EP as a salute to "those who have served" Shadow of a Stone.
Geoff is also a guitarist and lead singer in the all star Rock/Americana group New Yank Yorkies. Featuring top Canadian musicians John Ellis, Rob Becker, Pat Steward, and Jay Buettner.
Geoff continues to write, record, produce, and play live at a number of venues around Vancouver and Western Canada.
